The Olympus Dictation App is a simple recording app designed to work with the Olympus Dictation Delivery Service (ODDS) resulting in an enterprise level dictation solution. ODDS is a cloud-based subscription service offering centralized control, advanced workflow and routing functions for your dictations. Sign-up for a free 60 day trial of the ODDS service directly from within the app. An ODDS account is required to use the app.

Recent enhancements to the app will now require you migrate your data and settings.

Not intuitive as to what various settings do. The new recording mode self terminates after one second so I cant record any more than "testing, test...." Needs much more work to be useful.
Records your voice but hangs and resets when you try to send by email. Hangs and resets during the conversion process. Olympus makes great dictation products but this program doesnt meet its usual standards.
The application will record okay, but when you try and e-mail the file it locks up or repeatedly gives an Error Conversion Failed message. Ive used Olympus dictation products for years and had great hopes for this - but dont be fooled by the name and dont waste your time with it.
The screen shots of this app suggest it allows users to record in the DSS format. But it doesnt. You need the Olympus Dictation Delivery Service, which is nowhere to be found in the App Store or the Olympus website. And Olympus offers no stand alone DSS players for Mac. So Olympus players are essentially useless to Mac users. Ive called numerous dealers for a work around to no avail. Olympus is one of those companies that wants to cater to Apple folks but falls disastrously short. Which is inexplicable for a task as easy as voice recording. Apple folks should stay away from Olympus.
Freezes on intial attempt to record anything. Pressing the record button results in a delay, then a button appearance change seemingly indicating that it is working, but the timer stays at 0:00 and the rest of the app freezes. multiple restarts lead to the same endpoint. Get it together, Olympus.
